Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow

See your Bing searches and positions, and get new pages indexed in minutes.

Why Bing matters

Bing results also power Microsoft Copilot and are one of the sources ChatGPT search uses, so being well indexed on Bing helps in AI answers too. Many sites never set it up.

Connect Bing Webmaster Tools

  1. Sign in at bing.com/webmasters and add your site. The quickest way is Import from Google Search Console.
  2. In Bing Webmaster Tools open Settings > API access > API Key and generate a key.
  3. In SEOSID open your site > Bing & IndexNow, paste the key and click Connect Bing.

You then see Bing clicks, impressions and your top Bing searches with their average position. Tracked keywords show their Bing position on Keywords & rankings (Bing updates weekly). Disconnecting deletes the key from SEOSID.

IndexNow

IndexNow tells Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and others that a page is new or changed, so they re-crawl it within minutes.

  • WordPress: with SEOSID plugin 1.0.0 or later, switch it on in WordPress under SEOSID > Settings. Then every published or updated post, page and product is sent (only when the site allows search engines).
  • Website projects: download your key file, upload it to your site's main folder, click Check, then submit pages.
  • Shopify: Shopify does not allow files at your site's root, so use Bing Webmaster Tools submission instead.

Submit sends the addresses you type, or every page SEOSID knows, to IndexNow and Bing (Bing allows a number of submissions per day).
